Digital tourism in Savannah

There is no doubt that tourism is an important sector in Savannah. The beauty and charm of the Savannah's historic district is the key component of Savannah's tourism. A strong and solid historic preservation society in Savannah also significantly contributes in enhancing the quality of Savannah's tourism. In addition, the role of Savannah Area Convention and Visitors Bureau in promoting the Savannah's tourism is remarkable.

However, such things do not guarantee that tourism in Savannah will prevail in the 21st century. The characters of tourists in the 21st century differ from those in previous centuries. The rapid technology changes transform the characters of tourists and subsequently change the demand of tourism.

This post is to applaud the services that will be offered to tourists in Savannah to take advantage of digital technology. The services will offer audio tours that can be downloaded to devices that can read MP3 files, included iPod; and used on portable GPS devices. The detailed story about this services can be found in the following link from the Savannah Morning News:

Digital tourism moving forward

Such a service is vital to keep Savannah's tourism prevail and grow in the 21st century.

I love your voice in this. And i wanted to comment in how Savannah and NYC are so different. I don’t think ANYTHING could ever stop tourism in NYC. NO technology, no changes in people. New York City will always be the amazing, bright, full of life city and nothing beats that. Although I love quiet, suburban areas with lots of green areas, I always grew up in the city. and i dont think I can ever leave. I'll definetely visit Savannah soon!
